Searching inside encrypted rooms only works on downloaded clients, not web clients. This is a security limitation until the feature is added to web builds. So a downloaded desktop client like Element Desktop can search encrypted rooms, but Element Web or Cinny in the browser cannot.

There are a lot of high quality Matrix clients we haven't listed here. All of them work with this homeserver and any other Matrix server. Some are older or more niche and may not support the latest specs like voice and video calls, but they work great as fast text clients or for whatever specific feature you're after. Worth exploring if none of the above fit your workflow.
